Coronavirus (COVID-19) update: 1st June 2020
Scotland has now moved into the first phase after lockdown.
We have been instructed by the Chief Dental Officer that resuming normal dental practice will not happen in this first phase. We are beginning to prepare for the practice reopening, for urgent care only, in phase 2. This is scheduled to begin no later than the 31st July though it is likely to be sooner dependent on PPE (Personal Protection Equipment).
Currently all acute emergency care will continue to be provided in Urgent Dental Care Centres. Our nearest one is Chalmers St, Edinburgh. They have now expanded the treatment available to include routine treatment, such as lost fillings or loose crowns, where the patient feels they would like it carried out immediately.
Triage will continue to take place by contacting the practice. A dentist will be available Monday to Friday 10am to 1pm. If you have an emergency out with this time but before 6pm please call 07851 960618. After 6pm and at weekends please call NHS24 on 111.
We are cancelling all future appointments in the practice until the end of June at this time.
We will be rearranging all appointments, in stages, when we return to the practice and the timing of these will depend on Government guidance.
We hope you and yours are safe and well and look forward to seeing you in the near future.
