What is composite bonding?

Composite bonding is a cosmetic dental procedure where a tooth-coloured resin material is applied and hardened with a special light. This bonding material is used to improve the appearance of discoloured, chipped, or misshapen teeth.

Who is suitable for Composite bonding?

Everyone can be suitable for composite bonding. It is important that there is no dental disease and oral hygiene is maintained to an excellent standard. Bonding can be one of many options available depending on your concerns.


The Procedure:

1. The tooth is abraded slightly this helps the bonding adhere to the tooth.
2. The tooth is prepared by different washes and product applications.
3. A resin od desired shade is applied in layers and set with a curing light.
4. To achieve a final finish the bonding is shaped and polished.

Composite bonding can take 30-60 minutes per tooth. The bonding material is hardened instantly with a curing light, allowing you to walk out with your new smile!

Care for Bonded Teeth:

    •  Oral hygiene needs to be excellent
    •  Biting hard food or objects will chip or de-bond the resin
    •  To maintain an excellent aesthetic result, bonding may need to be polished or replaced over time
